Lefboom had a bold and inspiring idea: to let consumers save for trees in a fun and accessible way—helping to green their own neighborhoods in the process. With this mission, the startup aimed to spark nothing less than a green revolution. But there was one problem: the idea was still in its infancy. No technology, no app, no experience with digital platforms. Just a powerful concept and a whole lot of enthusiasm.
LiveWall stepped in as a digital partner and transformed Lefboom’s raw idea into a scalable, interactive savings platform. We developed a user-friendly app that allows consumers to save for trees by scanning their receipts after grocery shopping. Based on their spending, users automatically earn points that can be redeemed for planting trees. Users can choose to save for their own personal tree or contribute to a community project in their area; such as planting greenery at a local school. Through the platform, users can track their progress, see the impact they’re making, and even view exactly where their trees are planted.
The real challenge wasn’t just building the technology from scratch, it was also designing a smart reward system that motivates and retains users. We combined gamification elements with a sleek, accessible design, making the app inviting for daily use. The entire platform is modular and ready to scale to new partners, retailers, or cities.
The app is currently running in pilot mode in several supermarkets. Before launch, we conducted extensive usability testing with around 40 real end-users; young and old, on both new and older smartphones. In small groups, we tested key user scenarios like scanning receipts and donating points. The feedback was honest, sharp, and incredibly valuable. These insights allowed us to fine-tune the app exactly where it mattered, making it even more intuitive and user-friendly.Pilot results are currently being gathered. But one thing is certain: the green revolution has begun—and LiveWall is at the digital forefront.
